5.5 magnitude quake hits northern parts of country

An earthquake of 5.5 magnitude on richter scale hit northern parts of the country including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Islamabad on Wednesday morning.

A spokesman of Pakistan Meteorological Department told Radio Pakistan that the epicenter was near Bannu in KP. Its depth was recorded at 10 kilometer.

Meanwhile, at least fifteen students were injured when a wall of their school in Tanchi Bazaar in Bannu collapsed in the earthquake.

The injured were shifted to local hospitals.
