PCB announces setting up bio-mechanical lab at the National Cricket Academy Lahore
Addressing a seminar on "Cricket in Pakistan" in Lahore, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Najam Sethi says international cricket is coming back to Pakistan. Pakistan Super League opened the way for international cricket in Pakistan. Pakistan Cricket Board is planning to organize third edition of Pakistan Super League in January and February of the next year. Karachi Stadium is being repaired at the cost of fifteen million rupees. Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had directed him to prepare PCB constitution and hold fair elections.
Independence Cup: PCB appoints umpires for matches between Pakistan and the World XI in Lahore
Aleem Dar and Ahsan Raza will officiate in the series opener at the Gaddafi Stadium on September 12 while Shozab Raza will be the TV umpire. The second match of the series, to be played on September 13, will be umpired by Ahmed Shahab and Shozab Raza, with Ahsan Raza as the TV umpire. The series final will be umpired by Ahsan Raza and Shozab Raza, with Ahmed Shahab as the TV umpire. ICC has already appointed Sir Richie Richardson as match referee for the series, while the PCB has appointed on-field umpires for the Twenty-20s.
Online tickets for World XI tour of Pakistan have sold out
The Pakistan Cricket Board tweeted earlier that the online ticket purchase website eTicketing is no longer entertaining any further online ticket reservations. The PCB hopes the series will go off without a hitch as the country prepares to host Sri Lanka for one T20 next month and another three T20s against the West Indies in November. Meanwhile, former captain and renowned commentator Ramiz Raja says it is optimistic that the tour by the World XI will lead to resumption of a regular international cricket calendar in Pakistan.
West Indies bowled out for 123 against England
Ben Stokes took Six Wickets as West Indies were bowled out for just 123 in their first innings on the Opening Day of Third Cricket Test against England at Lord's. His haul included an excellent Slip Catch by James Anderson to dismiss Kemar Roach for a Duck. Kieran Powell made 39 while Shai Hope scored 29 runs for West Indies. Roland Jones also took two wickets. This three-match series is level at 1-1.
