The government commits to implement Prime Minister’s Rs 180 billions “Trade Enhancement Package” on priority basis
The package would help promote industrial growth, besides boosting country’s exports.
Ministry of Textile through implementation of the policy will provide incentives worth Rs 162 billion for the modernization and development of textile sector. Textile sector will get Rs 162 billion out of the Rs 180 billion “Trade Enhancement Package” announced by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
Pakistan to continue import of LNG from Qatar
Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources says Pakistan will continue to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Qatar under a 15-year agreement, despite the severing of diplomatic ties with Qatar by Saudi Arabia and some other countries. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says Qatar and Pakistan last year signed a $1 billion agreement, under which Qatar's Liquefied Gas Company Limited will sell LNG from 2016 to year 2031 to state-run Pakistan State Oil.
French Embassy says potential exists to boost bilateral trade
Philippe Fouet, head of the economics department at the French embassy says there are immense opportunities to enhance cooperation in trade and technology between Pakistan and France. Addressing a meeting at the Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA), he says France considered Pakistan a huge potential market for business and is keen to further promote bilateral trade and economic ties.
KP budget pro poor, maximum relief provided to people, govt employees: Finance Minister
Provincial Minister for Finance, Muzaffar says that the government has presented a balanced and pro-poor budget 2017-18 in which maximum relief was provided to all segments of the society including government employees and pensioners. Addressing a post budget press conference the Minister says government has distributed budget mainly in three major sectors i.e development, welfare and administrative to ensure strict financial discipline besides expediting pace of economic development in the province.
