Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Astana, Kazakhastan to participate in the two-day Meeting of the Heads of State Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Talking to newsmen on board the flight, the Prime Minister says peace in Afghanistan is imperative for peace in the region. He said peaceful Afghanistan is in the interest of Pakistan. Pakistan will not allow using its soil against any other country for subversive activities.

India's belligerence is a threat to regional peace and security- Pakistan warns India against making any strategic miscalculation

Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria in weekly press briefing says it appears that India is seeking a conflict with Pakistan. He categorically stated that Pakistan has no desire to escalate tension but our armed forces would respond effectively to any unprovoked violation from Indian side. India is deliberately escalating tension in order to divert international community's attention from gross human rights violation in Occupied Kashmir.

Security forces dismantle ISIS infrastructure in Mastung Operation- COAS appreciates effort of Southern Command, Intelligence Agencies and the troops for this successful operation

According to ISPR, security forces killed twelve hardcore terrorists including two suicide bombers during the operation that was conducted from 1st to 3rd of this month. The successful operation foiled attempts of establishing any direct or indirect ISIS organized infrastructure in Balochistan. There were reports of 10 to 15 terrorists of a banned outfit Lashrake-Jhangivi Al-Almi hiding in caves near Mastung making efforts for communication with ISIS and intending to facilitate establishment of ISIS foothold in Balochistan.

In a felicitation message, he said that his election as President of France is manifestation of the trust reposed by the people of France in his inspiring leadership and progressive vision. The Prime Minister expressed his confidence that the existing friendly ties between Pakistan and France would continue to grow under his dynamic leadership.

UK General election 2017: Voters to go to the polls 

Voting in the UK general election is under way at more than 40,000 polling stations across the country. Polls opened at 07:00 BST, with counting starting once voting ends at 22:00 BST. A total of 650 Westminster MPs will be elected, with about 46.9 million people registered to vote. That is up from the last general election, in 2015, when there were 46.4 million registered voters. 

North Korea fires suspected cruise missiles after US drills 

North Korea test fired several short-range land-to-ship cruise missiles off its east coast early this morning. South Korea's Office of Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement that the missiles were launched from the coastal city of Wonsan that flew about two hundred kilometers.

Qatari crisis could spell new trouble for embattled Hamas- World leaders trying to resolve diplomatic row between Qatar, neighboring Arab states

Qatar, one of the few foreign backers of Hamas, faces massive pressure from its Gulf neighbors to cut ties with the Islamic militant group.
