Civil, military leadership expresses resolve to protect national interests by thwarting evil designs 

Participants of a meeting dwelt at length on various issues related to external and internal security situation of the country including CPEC. The meeting expressed satisfaction on the phenomenal successes of operation Zarb-e-Azb. It was agreed that our achievements in bringing stability in the country will have to be sustained at all costs. The meeting also took cognizance of ongoing regional developments and inimical designs against our stability and prosperity. Reaffirming commitment to enduring regional peace, it was underlined that hostile intelligence agencies and their facilitators will not be allowed to foment trouble inside Pakistan. The meeting expressed concern on US drone strike in Balochistan calling it a clear violation of Pakistan's sovereignty affecting mutual trust and undermining the spirit of Afghan Peace Process under mutually agreed Quadrilateral framework.

Obama supports India for membership of Nuclear Suppliers Group

US President Barack Obama has supported India's candidature for membership of the elite Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG). He was addressing the media jointly with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after over hour-long talks at the White House in Washington. Obama said they discussed progress made in the Civil Nuclear agreement. He said, “I indicated support to India being a part of NSG.”  It is natural for India and the US to "deepen and broaden" partnership.  Meanwhile, Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that Pakistan has undertaken a proactive diplomatic offensive in all the member countries of the group. He stated this in the senate over the recent Indian test-fire of supersonic Interceptor missile.

Drone strikes cast negative impact on peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan 

Special Assistant to PM on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi has said the US drone attack in Balochistan has cast negative impact on the peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan. In an interview, he described the attack as illegal and violation of Pakistan's sovereignty. Drone strike has also put a question mark on the United States' intentions about peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan.  Pakistan believed that dialogue is the only option to ensure peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan, as peace in Afghanistan is also vital for peace in the region.

Khalistan movement in Indian Punjab-Sikh demand referendum by 2020 on 32nd anniversary of Operation Blue Star

Youth raised pro-Khalistan slogans in Amritsar's Golden Temple and demanded a "Sikh referendum by 2020." The demand marked the 32nd anniversary of Operation Blue Star. The Indian military Operation Blue Star was ordered by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi that started on June 3 till June 8, 1984.The motive was to eliminate 'extremist' Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and regain control over the Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar where he had taken refuge there since 1980.State government had turned the Golden Temple into a fortress, deploying a three-layered security around the shrine.


Pakistan Army wins Inter-Regiment Volleyball Championship by defeating Sri Lanka

Pakistan Army won Inter-Regiment Volleyball Championship defeating Sri Lanka in Colombo on Tuesday. Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General Channa Goonetilleke was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among winning and runners-up teams.
