A new spell of monsoon is likely to begin in different parts of the country from next week.

A spokesperson of Met Office told Radio Pakistan Islamabad correspondent that heavy downpours are expected in Islamabad, upper Punjab and Kashmir from Monday to Thursday while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will receive the rains from Tuesday.

He said the monsoon spell will also lash Sindh and Balochistan provinces from Friday to Sunday.

The spokesperson said the rains will continue intermittently which may trigger flash floods in Barsati nullahs and landsliding in mountainous areas.
