Govt expedites relief activities in Chitral flood-hit areas
Amir Muqam says federal government is taking practical steps for the development of Chitral.
Prime Minister's focal person for relief activities in flood hit areas of Chitral Amir Muqam has said no effort will be spared for early rehabilitation of people affected by the recent rains in Chitral .
Talking to the people in Chitral on Friday, he assured that all available resources will be provided for the relief and rehabilitation of the affected population.
Amir Muqam said Prime Minister instructed him about relief activities in Chitral on phone from London.
The focal person said federal government is taking practical steps for the development of Chitral and provision of electricity to the area will be ensured.
Later, the deputy commissioner Chitral gave him a detailed briefing about the destruction caused by floods and the ongoing relief activities.
He informed that a summary of fifty million rupees has been sent for construction of nine bridges and twenty two roads while ten million rupees have been released by PDMA.
Speaking on the occasion, Amir Muqam said we want early completion of Lowari Tunnel to facilitate the people of the area.
Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Asghar Nawaz visited flood affected Ursoon village in Chitral on Friday.
He met the flood affected people and distributed food items.
On this occasion, he said all possible assistance will be provided to PDMA KP for helping the rains and flood affected people of Chitral .
Pakistan Red Crescent Society has distributed relief goods among the rain and flood affected people of Chitral .
The goods include plastic buckets, water filters and other necessary items.
The affected people have already been given food items and compensation amount.
The injured are being provided free medical treatment in District Headquarters Hospital Chitral .
