Mushtaq Ahmad Mehr (Former Ambassador):
“Both Germany and Pakistan have enjoyed cordial relations. After Britain’s withdrawal from European Union, Germany will play pivotal role in the organization. Germany keeps Pakistan in high regard to the role it played during the invasion of Afghanistan by former USSR. They consider that Pakistan had a great role in the fall of Berlin Wall. Germany has taken up the cause to treat Middle Eastern refugees fairly. It is hosting more than one hundred thousand refugees. Germans also pay a lot of respect to Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, and in German institute the subject of Iqbal studies is being taught. Germany also helped Pakistan to get GSP-Plus status. This visit of Speaker National Assembly is very important.”
Dr. Muhammad Khan (IR Expert):
“The statement of the Advisor to PM is very important. Pakistan has gained remarkable achievement in Operation Zarb-i-Azb. Initially US promised to collaborate with Pakistan but later deserted it. Pakistan has pooled up its resources to fight this war. NATO army was not able to achieve what we have achieved. Pakistan has made it clear to stop cross border illegal movement. The centre of terrorists is Afghanistan and unless we secure our border, we will not be able to get rid of this problem.”
