A team of “concerned citizens” led by former External Affairs Minister and senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha has released its report on Kashmir yesterday. The group that visited the valley twice on a fact-finding mission has recommended “multi-dimensional dialogue” that includes talks with Hurriyat should be “initiated at the earliest” and has asked the government to improve human rights situation and resuscitate democratic linkages between with people and allow Kashmiris to assemble and meet to hold discussions.

Iraqi forces reache near Tigris River in advances against ISIS

Iraqi forces have reached near the Tigris River in advances against ISIS. A military spokesman Sabah al-Numan says that counter-terrorism service forces were the closest they had been to the Tigris inside Mosul and closing in on a strategic bridge. Forces seized the Ghufran district and entered neighboring Wahda. A separate military statement said Iraqi federal police had recaptured a hospital complex in Wahda.

Houthi militias killed as areas of Taiz liberated

At least 16 Houthi militias were killed as Yemen’s army and Popular Resistance forces advance to liberate several strategic areas in Taiz. Clashes were centered around the small coastal town of Dhubab in Taiz while the areas of al-Mansoura and Jebal al-Amri were also liberated on Saturday the spokesman of for the Yemeni army in Taiz confirmed. The spokesman said Houthi militias and forces loyal to ousted former president Ali Abdullah Saleh were defeated in the areas by the advancement of ground forces and coalition air raids.

French Military to Boost Defenses against Cyber Attacks: Jean-Yves Le Drian

France has decided to boost its resources to defend against cyber-attacks from foreign countries. In an interview, French defense minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said there is a real risk of cyber-attacks on French civil infrastructure, as well as against French democracy and media. In case of a cyber-attack, the country can respond in kind as well as with conventional weapons.

Saudi Arabia: 2 Suspected IS Militants Killed In Riyadh

In Saudi Arabia, two suspected Islamic State militants have been killed in capital, Riyadh. Saudi Interior Ministry says the militants opened fire on police after being surrounded in Yasmeen neighbourhood, forcing officers to return fire. Later Police also recovered bomb manufacturing material from the house where the two suspects were staying.

US President-elect Donald Trump says he will work with Russia to resolve some of the pressing issues facing the world. He stated this in a series of tweets after an intelligence report said Russian President tried to meddle in the recent US election to help Trump win the polls. Iraq, Turkey Agree To Mutually Cooperate On Contentious Issues

Iraq and Turkey have agreed to mutually cooperate on contentious issues between the two countries. The understanding reached at a meeting between Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim and his Iraqi counterpart Haider al-Abadi in Baghdad. Later, in a joint press conference, Iraqi Prime Minister said the issue of presence of Turkish troops in norther Iraq would be resolved soon. The Turkish Prime Minister appreciated his Iraqi counterpart for assuring that his country will not allow the PKK to threaten Turkey from Iraqi territories.
