Sana Mir becomes first Pakistan bowler to take 100 wickets in Women ODIs
Sana Mir, women’s cricket allrounder and Pakistan captain, became the first bowler from the country to take 100 wickets in One-day Internationals. The 31-year-old cricketer reached the milestone when she clean bowled Bangladesh’s Jahanara Alam during Pakistan’s match in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier at Colombo on Wednesday. Sana is the 15th bowler of the world to reach the milestone in women’s ODI cricket. Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 67 runs in this match after Sana captured two wickets for just 19 runs in ten overs. The International Cricket Council has congratulated Sana Mir on her achievement in the following official tweet.
Pakistan Blind Team has set victory target agains west Indies
In the T-20 World Cup for Blind in Karnataka, Pakistan has set a victory target of 374 for West Indies. Chasing the target, West Indies were 167 for seven in 16 overs a shortwhile ago.
PSL 2nd Edition Starts Tomorrow
The glittering Pakistan Super League will be inaugurated tomorrow in Dubai with first game to be played between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi. A meeting of the all international players of five teams was held in Dubai in which officials briefed them security measures for holding finals of the PSL in Lahore.
Chairman PSL Najam Sethi, former captains Rameez Raja and Wasim Akram assured them complete security in Pakistan. "Pakistan is not playing at home but in the UAE, where they have played for many years and its very tough to beat them there," says the former captain.
PSL was a great success and in the presence of more world class players, things will be no different in the new season.
Former South Africa captain Johan Botha will be Islamabad United's fielding coach for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017
Botha will replace Darren Berry for the post. Botha, who has previously captained the South Australia team, plays for the Sydney Sixers in Australia's Big Bash League. Regarding his replacement, Berry clarified that, "For personal reasons and commitments back home I will not be able to join the PSL this year."
Botha will join Dean Jones, Tauseef Ahmed, Dean Woodford and Wasim Akram in Islamabad United's coaching staff.
Suarez hero and villain as Barca reach King's Cup final
Luis Suarez scored and was sent off as holders Barcelona reached a fourth successive King's Cup final after drawing 1-1 with a resilient Atletico Madrid in an action-packed semi-final second leg. Suarez was one of three players dismissed and will now miss the final after Barcelona edged through 3-2 on aggregate. Barca, the 28-times winners, will meet either Alaves or Celta Vigo in the final in May, seeking a third successive Cup triumph under coach Luis Enrique. Atletico looked beaten at the start of the second half but showed grit and determination to get back into the game, even after Griezmann had a goal wrongly ruled out for offside and Carrasco was sent off. "Barca were only better than us in goals scored, although that's what counts the most in football," Atletico coach Diego Simeone told reporters.
South Africa beat Sri Lanka by 40 runs
South Africa closed in on a series whitewash after defeating Sri Lanka by 40 runs in the fourth one-day international at Newlands .
A late Sri Lanka batting collapse allowed South Africa to move 4-0 ahead in the five-match series.
