Former UN chief against new permanent UNSC members
Pakistan has a principled stance that UNSC expansion should take place only in non-permanent category
Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and former Norwegian prime minister Gro Harlem Brundtland have called for giving up attempts to include new permanent members in the UN Security Council .
In their opinion, they emphasized for paving the way to restructure the fifteen-member body to make it more effective.
The proposal to drop the idea of additional permanent members on the Security Council vindicates Pakistan's principled stand that expansion should take place only in non-permanent category.
