‘London Conference to play vital role in development of Afghanistan’
British High Commissioner and Ambassador of Afghanistan say the event will be helpful in resolving the problems of Afghanistan.
United Kingdom and Afghanistan have expressed confidence that the recently concluded London Conference will play vital role in development and reconstruction of Afghanistan and promote peace, security and stability in the region.
Addressing a joint news conference in Islamabad on Monday British High Commissioner Philip Barton and Ambassador of Afghanistan Janan Mosazai said the event will be helpful in resolving the problems of Afghanistan.
Speaking at the occasion, the British High Commissioner Philip Barton said the conference provided the first opportunity for the international community and the new Afghan Government to set out our collective commitments to Afghanistan's future as we enter the Transformation Decade.
He said the international community reaffirmed their support for Afghanistan in its efforts to become a more stable and secure nation and to build a sustainable future for all Afghans.
Meanwhile, Afghan Ambassador Janan Mosazai said Afghanistan is confident that this strong international consensus on peace, security and prosperity in Afghanistan will have a salutary impact on efforts with other countries in the region, especially with Pakistan, to overcome the challenges facing the country.
He said terrorism and extremism are common enemies of Pakistan and Afghanistan and both the countries are cooperation in all the fields including security to fight this menace.
