Complete shutdown observed in Pulwama, Kakapora
In occupied Kashmir, a complete shutdown was observed in Pulwama and Kakapora towns on the second day, today, to protest against the martyrdom of a Kashmiri youth by the Indian troops.
According to KMS, he was martyred during a violent operation at Astan Mohalla in Kakapora.
The Indian troops also destroyed two residential houses and damaged three others in the area.
All shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed while traffic was off the road.
The authorities deployed large security forces to stop people from holding demonstrations against the killing.
Dozens of people were injured when the forces’ personnel fired teargas shells and pallets to disperse the demonstrators.
Meanwhile, the delegations of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party visited the area and expressed solidarity with the family of the martyred youth.
