Interior Minister, JI delegation discuss ways to defuse political situation
Jamaat-e Islami Secretary General says his party believes in constitutional leadership
A delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami led by its Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq held two rounds of talks with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in Islamabad on Friday and discussed ways to defuse current political situation.
Later, talking to newsmen Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Liaqat Baloch said his party believes in constitutional leadership.
He expressed the hope that all the political forces will demonstrate responsibility in the prevailing situation.
He said it is not time of political point scoring. He said his party is not against protests and long marches, but these should be peaceful.
Speaking at a function in Lower Dir, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq said dialogue is the only way to steer the country out of political crisis.
He urged the Federal Government to take steps for resolution of the situation through political ways.
Sirajul Haq said his party wants celebration of Independence Day in a peaceful manner.
