Addressing a festive ceremony, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Najam Sethi says the purpose of the World XI is to project a positive image of Pakistan around the world. The World XI will play three T20 Internationals for the Independence Cup against Pakistan under lights at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on 12, 13 and 15 of this month. The success of this event will bring international cricket back to the country. He also announced to hold four matches of Pakistan Super League Three in Karachi. Najam Sethi says that negotiations are underway with Sri Lankan Cricket Board to hold a two match series in Pakistan. West Indies team will visit Pakistan this year after the tour of World XI and Sri Lanka.

Selected branches of Bank of Punjab Lahore issuing tickets for Independence Cup 2017 for public convenience

According to details, tickets will be given upon submission of Computerized National Identity Cards and one CNIC can be used for five tickets. Children above the age of four will be charged the full ticket price. The Pakistan Cricket Board has issued warning to all cricket lovers to get tickets from authorized ticket sellers.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board has announced auction of cricket bats signed by international cricket stars, national team players and showbiz stars. The two bats being put up for auction to generate funds for Edhi Foundation. An auction Ceremony would be held on 12th this month.
