Flood emergency is aimed at dealing with the situation arising out of heavy rains and floods.
Punjab Government has announced flood emergency throughout the province to deal with the situation arising out of heavy rains and floods.
According to a handout issued in Lahore, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed the concerned authorities and departments to speed up rescue and relief activities in the affected areas.
He also directed Provincial Ministers, Commissioners and DCOs to remain in the field to facilitate the flood victims.
Chairing a meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said helicopters and boats be used for evacuation of marooned people.
He directed to provide food and mineral water to the flood affectees. He also asked to send mobile water filtration plants to the affected areas.
