AJK PM visits rain, flood affected districts
Chaudhry Abdul Majeed enquires about problems of rain-affected families.
The AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed has visited the rain and flood affected districts of Bagh, Poonch, Sudhanoti and Kotli through helicopter on Sunday and talked to the affected people.
He enquired about the problems of the rain-affected families and directed the administration for addressing them. He also directed for immediate payment of the compensation to the heirs of the victims and asked for assessing the damages and submission of detailed report on them.
The Prime Minister enhanced the compensation from 150,000 per victim to 500,000. Talking to the people at the affected districts, he said rehabilitation of affected families is first priority of the government and assured that the affectees would be paid compensation for their damaged houses.
The AJK Prime Minister said that Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has expressed his sorrow over the loss of life and property due to torrential rains and flash floods in Azad Kashmir.
He said Pakistan Prime Minister assured to extend all possible helps and assistance for the rehabilitation of the affected people and infrastructure in Azad Kashmir. He said Pakistan government and nation stand with people of Azad Kashmir in this difficult time.
