Pakistan supports Afghan-led peace process: Analysts
Dr. Muhammad Khan says People of Afghanistan have strong affiliations with Pakistani nation.
Pakistan rejects reports in Afghan press claiming that its security officials were involved the recent capture of Kunduz by the Taliban.
Speaking in Radio Pakistan’s program, Maj Gen (Retd.) Athar Abbas (Defense Analyst): “The differences between Abdullah Abdullah and Ashraf Ghani have been exposed and Taliban are taking the advantage of these disparities. It is beyond the understanding that whenever an incident occurred in Afghanistan and India, both the countries start blaming Pakistan for it. It is the responsibility of Afghan government to tackle Taliban. India has been getting the advantage of the instability and uncertainty in Afghanistan for carrying out terrorist activities in Pakistan. Afghanistan should differentiate between the good and bad. Pakistan has been fighting a war against terrorism to wipe out this menace from the country. So, allegations of Afghan government on Pakistan involved in terrorism are totally baseless.”
Dr. Muhammad Khan (Defense Analyst): “Kunduz city is nearer to Kazakhstan and its borders are not linked with Pakistan. Afghanistan has been using Indian tone and holding Pakistan responsible for Kunduz city incident. Pakistan has always supported peace in Afghanistan. People of Afghanistan have strong affiliations with Pakistani nation. India has been using Afghanistan’s land for terrorist activities in Pakistan. Both India and Pakistan have been creating baseless dramas against Pakistan. Indian spy agency has been using Afghan’s for carrying out terrorist activities in Pakistan. Military and political leadership of Pakistan are well wisher of new Afghan government and Kabul must realize it. A time will come when Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah will realize the reality that Pakistan always supported Afghanistan in every department.”
Brig (Retd) Mehmood Shah (Defense Analyst): “Some anti-Pakistan elements have been involved in alleging Pakistan for Kunduz attack that are baseless and mischievous. Pakistan has been supporting Afghanistan for the last four decades. A number of Afghan refugees have been residing in Pakistan. United States has also been involved in blame game. New Afghan president is basically not a politician rather he is an economist. So, he is unaware of the ups and downs of the politics. Abdullah Abdullah group has been supporting anti-Pakistan agendas and Ashraf Ghani has also been supporting this act. When Afghan government will realize the reality about Pakistan, may be it will become too late.”
Rahimullah Yousafzai (Senior Journalist): “Afghanistan always holds Pakistan responsible for any mishap in the country. Kunduz city share border with Kazakhstan and is far away from Pakistan. Then how Pakistan has been involved in Taliban’s attack on the city? Afghanistan wants the NATO forces to remain in Afghanistan till the elimination of terrorism in the country. Withdrawal of NATO forces is not in national interests of the Kabul. Afghanistan became an experimental battle field for the United States military forces. As compared to Ashraf Ghani, Hamid Karzai has always protested in a strong manner but Ashraf Ghani does not have that potential. In Saturday's strike on an Afghan hospital run by Doctors without Borders, or Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), killed 22 people and deeply angered the medical charity.”
Dr. Huma Baqai (IR Expert): "There are some internal differences between Abdullah Abdullah and Ashraf Ghani. India has also been supporting Afghanistan for its national interest because India has been using Afghan land for carrying out terrorist activities in Pakistan. The government has already clarified its stance that Pakistan will never interfere in internal affairs of Afghanistan as both the countries have brotherly relations. Kunduz is 700 km away from Pakistan. India has been involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan especially in Balochistan. India wants to sabotage the development projects and creating hurdles in the way of operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorism. Security situation in the country is getting better. 600 rebels have surrendered to authorities in Balochistan. Fruitful results have been achieved in Pakistan due to government prudent policies in Balochistan.”
Dr. A.Z. Hilali (IR Expert): “It is not a new story. Kabul always leveled alleging on Pakistan in involving in terrorist activities in Afghanistan. Afghan government knows well that who is behind the terrorist activities but unfortunately Kabul blames Pakistan. ISPR has strongly rejected the media reports regarding involvement of Pakistani security officials in Kunduz attack. As per reports of our intelligence agencies there is lack of coordination in Afghan administration. If Afghan government has evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in efforts to destabilize Afghanistan, it should be presented in front of the world. Afghan government itself should take certain measures to compete Taliban. Pakistan has always supported peace and prosperity in the region and has been fighting a successful war to wipe out terrorism from the country. Islamabad has announced many a times that Pakistan has never interfered in the internal affairs of Afghanistan and will also abide by the same policy in future. Afghan government should focus on to improve the security of their own country in order to avoid such incidents in future.”
Prof. Ghulam Mustafa (IR Expert): “Pakistan has always offered its support to Afghan government for peace in Afghanistan as well as in the region. But, Afghanistan always blames Pakistan for terror in the country. Kabul has been creating such dramas in order to get the attention of United States for financial support. Pakistan government became mature and all the political and military leaders are on one page to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country. The silence of Pakistan should not be considered as its weakness as Pakistan his fully capable of defending its territorial integrity. Kabul and Islamabad should cooperate with each other to have peace in the territory and resolve the mutual conflicts through dialogue. Afghanistan should allege Pakistan on the basis of evidence.”
Dr. Hussain Shaheed Soharwardi (IR Expert): “It is a routine that Afghanistan blames Pakistan for any incident in Afghanistan. Taliban is not an army but they have organized themselves much better than Afghan security forces. Abdullah Abdullah must resign because he is involved in implementation of some wrong decisions in Afghanistan. The differences between Abdullah Abdullah and Ashraf Ghani are no more hidden and have been exposed. I have no confusion in saying that terrorists involved in terrorism in Pakistan come from Afghanistan and they are controlled by Afghanistan. Indian spy agency RAW has been involved in financing and training of terrorists in Afghanistan that carry out terrorist attacks in Pakistan.”
