BIZENJO

Minister for Ports and Shipping Mir Hasil Bizenjo says government is sincere to prepare Terms of Reference to probe Panama Papers with consensus but opposition seems to be least interested in the matter.     

In an interview, he said it is wrong perception that the government is using delaying tactics on formulation of ToRs.

Hasil Bizenjo said the government intends to formulate such ToRs that are not person-specific rather, address the issue across the board. 

SENATE-MEDICINES:

Minister of State for National Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar says prices of only those medicines have been increased by eight percent whose raw material got expensive.

Responding to a calling attention notice in the Senate moved by Mian Muhammad Ateeq Shaikh, she said the companies had applied to enhance prices of 612 medicines, but the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan approved increase in prices of only 177 medicines.

 

SENATE-MOTION:

The Senate Chairman has admitted for discussion an adjournment motion regarding re-verification of the CNICs of entire population. The motion was moved by Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar and others.

The chair said that discussion on the motion will be held on Thursday.

 

NA-QUORUM

The National Assembly resumed its session in Islamabad today with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the chair.

At the outset, Jamshed Dasti pointed out lack of quorum and the chair suspended the proceedings till the completion of quorum.

SANAULLAH

Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has reaffirmed government's commitment to protect lives and properties of the people.

Talking to delegations belonging to Pishin and Chaman districts, who called on him in Quetta today, he said that kidnapping for ransom is a challenge for the provincial government and necessary measures have been taken to control the situation.

The Chief Minister said kidnappers would be eliminated soon no matter how powerful they may be.

He said we are in a state of war and our enemies want to damage our unity. However, he observed with pleasure the security forces and law enforcement have foiled their design. 

 

CM-TRAFFIC

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed Traffic Police to ensure flow of traffic in big cities during Ramazan.

In a statement issued in Lahore today, the Chief Minister instructed senior police officials to devise an effective strategy in this regard.

 

COMMITTEE

A Provincial Cabinet Committee with the Punjab Chief Secretary its conveyor has been formed on directives of Punjab Chief Minister to review the prices at  Ramazan Bazaars.

The members of the committee will regularly monitor the arrangements made in Ramadan Bazaars and present its report on daily basis to the Chief Minister about the steps being taken to deliver the relief to the people under Ramadan Package.

 

DAM

Work on the construction of Raghagan Dam in Bajaur Agency is nearing completion.

FATA Secretariat officials told Radio Pakistan Peshawar correspondent that the dam will be completed this year at a cost of the one hundred and ninety eight million rupees.

After completion, the dam will irrigate three thousand and seven hundred acres of barren land in the area.

 

PM-BELARUS

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has expressed good wishes for speedy recovery of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

In his message, the President of Belarus said he was deeply concerned about the health of the prime minister.

Alexander Lukashenko said he is confident that we will continue to work on the development of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.

 

OPERATION

In Karachi, police in an operation have dismantled drug dens in Pak Colony area.

According to Police these drug dens were being run by notorious drug peddlers belonging to the Lyrai gang war.
