Analysts

Aqeel Yousafzai (Expert on Afghan Affairs):

“It is almost two years since Operation Zarb-e-Azb started and it is the longest ever operation in the history of our country. This operation started with the mutual consensus of the government, the security forces and the nation. Now, it is high time that we should plan for the future. Overall peace situation in the country has significantly improved. Pakistan has conveyed a strong message to the world that Pakistan will continue the operations against terrorists without any discrimination. Security agencies cleared out many areas from the terrorists and peace has prevailed in the world. Today’s meeting of civil and military leadership discussed issues related to national security. Our security forces have the capability to defend any aggression against Pakistan’s territorial integrity.”

Lt Gen (Retd) Talat Masood (Defense Analyst):

“Indian involvement in internal affairs of Pakistan is evident by the capture of RAW agents. India has established a network to destabilize Pakistan by all means. The main aim of India is to sabotage China Pakistan Economic Corridor but Pakistan Army has taken the responsibility for the security of this game changing project. India is also involved in financing and training the terrorists for carrying out nefarious activities inside Pakistan using Afghan soil. Our intelligence agencies are alert and keeping a sharp eye on any suspicious activity against the integrity of Pakistan. International community needs to take notice of Indian involvement in Pakistan.”

Javed Abbasi (Senator, PML-N):

“The security forces of Pakistan have set an example of bravery and achieved remarkable successes in war against terrorism. Hideouts and networks of the terrorists have been dismantled. The jawans of Pak Army have sacrificed their lives for the brighter future of our country. The security forces have launched the operation against militants without any foreign support. Some elements do not want to see a prosperous and developed Pakistan and they have always been involved in making efforts to destabilize the country. Our security forces apprehended an Indian agent who was a serving Indian officer in Indian Navy. Our security forces are making utmost efforts to protect and secure Pakistan against such conspiracies. The civil and military leadership are on same page and have vowed to continue the operation till the elimination of last terrorist. All the political parties should support the government for a peaceful Pakistan.”
