Civil, Military leadership resolve to protect national interests
High level meeting in Rawalpindi expresses satisfaction on the successes of operation Zarb-e-Azb.
The civil and military leadership has resolved to protect core national interests by thwarting all evil designs of inimical forces.
The resolve was expressed at a high level meeting held in Rawalpindi on Tuesday to discuss issues related to national security.
The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif, Ishaq Dar, Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi, Adviser on National Security Lt General (RTD) Nasir Janjua and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad.
Meeting was also attended by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, DG ISI and other senior military officials.
The meeting expressed satisfaction on the successes of operation Zarb-e-Azb.
It was agreed that our achievements in bringing stability in the country will have to be sustained at all costs.
Reaffirming commitment to enduring regional peace, it was underlined that hostile intelligence agencies and their facilitators will not be allowed to foment trouble inside Pakistan.
The meeting expressed concern on US drone strike in Balochistan calling it a clear violation of Pakistan's sovereignty affecting mutual trust and undermining the spirit of Afghan Peace Process under mutually agreed Quadrilateral framework.
