Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says advancement in science and technology and development of the county`s human resource is vision of the Government.

He was addressing students during laptop distribution ceremony under the National Science Talent Farming Scheme in Islamabad today.

The Minister said progress in science and technology is inevitable for progress of the country.

He said the Science Talent Farming Scheme will produce scientists of international stature.

Ahsan Iqbal said the bright future of the country depends not on JIT or the Panama Case but on a well-educated youth who are real future of the country.

He emphasized the need for provision of equal opportunities to the poor so that they can play an active role in the country`s development.

The Minister said under the Vision 2025 the Government aims at including the country among top twenty five economies of the world.

He said ten thousand megawatts of electricity have been added in the national grid during the last four years.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Science and Technology Rana Tanveer Hussain said the Science Talent Farming Scheme aims at leading the country on the path of scientific and technological progress.

He said the Scheme is part of Prime Minister's vision to provide a platform to the youth for exploring new avenues in science and technology.

The Minister said benefit of the youth belonging to far flung areas of the country is the main target of this scheme.

On the occasion, laptops were distributed among three hundred students from across the country under the Science Talent Farming Scheme.
