Investigation report into Ahmadpur Sharqia oil tanker tragedy has been released by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, holding the private oil company responsible for the incident which claimed over two hundred lives.     

The report noted that the fitness certificate of the oil tanker was fake and the vehicle was not technically suitable to transport heavy quantity of fuel.    

The regulatory authority has directed the private oil company to pay compensation of one million rupees each to the heirs of those killed and five hundred thousand rupees for those injured in the incident.    

The authority has also directed the private company to ensure implementation of the decisions. Otherwise, strict action will be taken against it.
