ICC clears Saeed Ajmal’s bowling action
Ajmal says he looks forward to joining the national team
The International Cricket Council has cleared bowling action of off spinner Saeed Ajmal .
He was suspended from bowling in international cricket in September for illegal bowling action.
In his remarks after the ICC's decision, Saeed Ajmal said he is looking forward to again joining the national cricket team. He said he is comfortable with the new bowling action. He was confident that his new bowling action will further strengthen the national team.
Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Shehryar Khan welcomed the ICC's decision saying Saeed Ajmal worked hard to modify his action.
The ICC also cleared Bangladeshi offspinner Sohag Gazi’s bowling actions.
Their retests were held at the Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai on January 24.
The umpires, however, are still at liberty to report Ajmal or Gazi in the future if they believe they are displaying a suspect action and not reproducing the legal actions from the retests.
Talking to newsmen outside Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Saeed Ajmal said he will try his best for a comeback to the national team.
He said he does not want to be included in team at this point, but will be ready to join the squad if need arises.
