Govt committed to eradicate polio: President
President also calls for extending health care facilities to rural and far-off areas
President Mamnoon Hussain has called for raising awareness of health issues particularly related to women and children.
Addressing International Woman and Child Health Conference in Islamabad on Friday, he said provision of universal basic health facilities is vital for overall development and progress.
The President appreciated the efforts for improvement of health infrastructure to provide quality medical facilities to all and sundry.
Mamnoon Hussain called for extending healthcare services to rural and far-flung areas.
He particularly stressed to provide security to lady health workers and volunteers administering polio drops.
He reaffirmed the government's commitment to completely eradicate polio from the country.
The president reiterated the resolve that the war against terrorists would continue till its logical conclusion.
