Defence Minister meets German counterpart in Munich
Both sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations
Germany has assured its support to Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
The assurance came at a meeting between Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and his German counterpart Dr Ursula Von der Leyen on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference in Germany.
Germany also offered its cooperation for the resolution of regional issues in South Asia.
Both the Ministers exchanged views on bilateral relations with special reference to promoting cooperation in economic and trade sectors.
Khawaja Asif briefed his counterpart about the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb and Kashmir issue, which needs to be addressed for a durable peace and stability in the region.
He said Pakistan wants peaceful and good relations with all its neighbouring countries, including India, besides peaceful and negotiated solution of all outstanding issues.
In a separate meeting with the Chinese State Councilor Dr Yang Jiechi the Minister exchanged views on the bilateral relations between the two countries with special reference to cooperation in eliminating the terrorism in the region.
He hoped that the Chinese leadership would play a significant role in the near future to bring peace and prosperity in the region.
Dr Yang Jiechi assured him of his country's full support and cooperation in Pakistan's endeavour to overcome the socio-economic issues to bring peace and stability in the region.
