Britain reassures support for Pakistan in fighting terror
British High Commissioner, Interior Minister discuss bilateral ties and ways to strengthen cooperation to combat terrorism
Britain has reassured all possible support to Pakistan in the eradication of extremism.
The assurance was given by UK High Commissioner Philip Barton during a meeting with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in Islamabad.
Philip Barton appreciated the sacrifices made by people and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan against militants.
The interior minister said National Action Plan is manifestation of the government's firm resolve to root out militancy and extremism from the country.
He said Pakistan will continue to play its role for peace in the region and beyond.
Pak-UK bilateral relations, war against militancy and extremism, strengthening of cooperation to combat terrorism, capacity building of law-enforcement agencies and regional situation were discussed in the meeting.
The minister said Pakistan would continue to assist Afghan institutions in their capacity enhancement.
