220,000 teachers have recruited on merit in Punjab during last 8 years: Shehbaz

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that ensuring transparency and merit at every level is among top priorities of PML-N government.
He was chairing a high level meeting in Lahore today to review the progress on various programmes in the province.
The Chief Minister said that during the last eight years two hundred and twenty thousand (220,000) teachers have been recruited on merit.
Shehbaz Sharif said that "Khadim-e-Punjab Zewar-e-Taleem Programme" has been launched in sixteen districts of South Punjab under which scholarships worth of four billion rupees will be distributed every year among girl students.
