Pak, China reaffirm resolve for speedy implementation of CPEC project
Planning Minister says CPEC would help create regional economic block of three billion people through improved regional integration.
Pakistan and China have re-affirmed their commitment to speedily implement China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project to take the geopolitical relations to geo-economic orbit.
Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal and Secretary of Communist Party of Xinjiang province, Zhang Chunxian, during a meeting in Islamabad were in unison that CPEC is a win-win project for both China and Pakistan.
The Minister Planning and Development pointed out that cooperation between Pakistan and Xinjiang can add a new chapter in CPEC because of their geographic proximity.
Ahsan Iqbal said CPEC would help create a regional economic block of three billion people through improved regional integration and connectivity and Pakistan could play a critical role as it is located in the center of South Asia, Central Asia and China.
Zhang appreciated the economic turnaround Pakistan has made in the last two and half years under leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and noted that Pakistan is now well-positioned for economic take off.
