Indian police kill 20 stone-throwing sandalwood smugglers
Andhra Pradesh Police Chief says police task force had come under hail of stones launched by around 100 stone-throwing smugglers.
In the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh, police shot dead 20 alleged stone-throwing sandalwood smugglers near the town of Tirupati.
Andhra Pradesh Police Chief J.V. Ramudu told reporters on Tuesday that a police task force had come under a hail of stones launched by around one hundred stone-throwing smugglers.
However, Human Rights Forum General Secretary V.S. Krishna said the protesters were unarmed labourers and demanded an investigation. It was a fake encounter.
