In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed serious concern over massive crackdown on pro-freedom leaders in the territory.

In a statement in Srinagar, a spokesman for the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said it was highly condemnable that people including political leaders and activists taking part in Human Rights Week are arrested and lodged in jails and police stations.

He said prevailing instability in occupied Kashmir is due to the lingering Kashmir dispute.

He urged world community to put pressure on New Delhi to stop oppression and atrocities on the people of occupied Kashmir.
