India's polluted air killed 1.24 million in 2017: study

In India, over 1.24 million people died of toxic air and polluted environment last year.

According to a study published in the Lancet Planetary Health journal, more than 51 percent of the people who died because of air pollution were younger than 70.

Earlier this year, the World Health Organisation said India is home to the world's 14 most polluted cities.
