Prime Minister Imran Khan has constituted a committee to resolve issues about Islamabad, particularly those emerging out of the ongoing anti-encroachment drive in the capital city.
The committee will comprise Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi as chairman and Health Minister Amir Kiani and MNAs Raja Khurram Nawaz and Ali Nawaz Awan as members of the committee.
The Committee will make decisions regarding the steps taken by Capital Development Authority in Islamabad. The Committee will also formulate a government policy in view of the Supreme Court's verdict regarding removal of encroachments.
Under the direction of the Prime Minister, it will be ensured that owners of small houses and shops and laborers are not affected by the anti-encroachment campaign.
The Prime Minister has directed that action under anti-encroachment campaign should be taken against land mafias, who have occupied the state land for several years.
