In a fresh report the United Nations has revealed that more than eight thousand children have been killed or injured in armed conflicts across the world last year.

Referring to the high number of death toll of the children the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres termed it as unacceptable.

In the UN annual Children and Armed Conflict report, presented to the UN Security Council today it has been mentioned that the highest number of child casualties occurred in Afghanistan.

The report said that 3,512 children were killed or maimed in Afghanistan while in Syria the figure was 1,299, and in Yemen it was 1,340 during 2016.
