PIA Chairman Nasir Jaffer has said flights of the national airlines are operating smoothly.

Talking to media in Islamabad on Tuesday evening, he said ninety percent pilots are supporting PIA .

He said that out of 107, only two flights were cancelled today due to bad weather and non-availability of the pilot. He said, however, Hajj flights are arriving in the country on time.

He said PIA wants to resolve the standoff through talks soon. He said PIA has not issued show cause notices to any pilots and the Civil Aviation Authority has issued the notices to two pilots.

Nasir Jaffer urged Pakistan Airline Pilots' Association to demonstrate responsibility in the national interest.

Meanwhile, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has taken strong notice of 21 PIA pilots and co-pilots who were reportedly sick. The Authority has constituted a Medical Board to examine their medical and psychological condition to ascertain professional viability.
