A global airline association has called for reopening of border for air traffic after Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain severed ties with Qatar which also caused disrupting air travel across the region.

Head of the International Air Transport Association, Alexandre de Juniac said that our industry depends on open borders and we would like borders to be reopened.

Saudi Arabia has banned Qatari airlines from its airspace, while Abu Dhabi's state-owned Etihad Airways and Dubai's Emirates Airline said they would suspend all flights to and from Doha from today.
