Annapurna International Badminton Championships- Pakistan beat India to win doubles title in Nepal
Pakistan badminton duo of Irfan Saeed and Azeem Sarwar won the Men’s Double title defeating Indian pair at Kathmandu. They outshone them in all departments of the game. In the Men’s Single event Murad Ali of Pakistan reaches the semifinals and Azeem Sarwar reaches the quarter final of the championships.
Improved security situation in Pakistan: Eight international footballers arrive in Pakistan
8 international footballers including former Brazilian footballers Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos are arriving in Pakistan. Ronaldinho will lead the team which will play two matches during its visit to Pakistan. The first match will be played tomorrow at Hockey Club of Pakistan in Karachi and second on Sunday in Lahore. Brazilian football celebrity Ronaldinho will be accompanied by Brazil’s 2002 World Cup winning teammate, Roberto Carlos, former French mid fielder Robert Pires, France’s Nicolas Anelka, Portugal’s Luis Boa Morte, Holland’s George Boateng, England’s David James and former Manchester United player Ryan Goggs.
Pakistani boxer wins international challenge fight
Pakistani boxer Mohammad Waseem has won International Challenge Fight in Panama City. In an eight-round ranking fight, Muhammad Wasim defeated Eliecer Valdez of Panama. With this victory, Muhammad Waseem has jumped to number one in the World Boxing Council's Silver Flyweight rankings as this is his fourth consecutive victory.
ICC Women World Cup: Australia beat Pakistan by 159 runs at Leicester
Batting first, Australia scored 290 runs for the loss of eight wickets in stipulated 50 overs. In reply, Pakistan scored 131 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in allocated overs. Earlier, Australia Women won the toss and elected to bat. Pakistan remains unsuccessful in winning a match in this tournament yet.
