PM to attend quadrilateral meeting of CASA-1000 in Tajikistan today
President of Tajikistan, Afghanistan and PM of Kyrgyzstan would also attend the meeting.
A quadrilateral meeting of Pakistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan is underway in Dushanbe to discuss progress on CASA-1000 project.
Besides, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Tajik President Emamali Rehmon, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Kyrgyzstan Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov will attend the meeting.
CASA-1000 is a significant power project to meet the growing demand of electricity in Pakistan and Afghanistan and it will be completed by the next year.
Under the project, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will provide cheap and clean energy to both Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The project will not only provide electricity but also help in accelerating trade relations and connectivity in the region.
CASA-1000 is reflection of Prime Minister's vision of energy and trade corridor and connectivity in the region for mutual development and prosperity.
