PM says that enemies of the country are busy in conspiracies to halt Pakistan's journey to progress and prosperity

He was talking to journalists on-board his plane while returning home after completing his two-day official visit to Tajikistan.Turning to internal situation, Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan is making progress, but some foes of the country want to halt this journey.He said the issue of energy shortage is going to be resolved during our constitutional tenure.He said political uncertainty created by political opponents through their conspiracies has adversely affected the stock exchange. Inspite of all conspiracies, the Prime Minister said, PML-N will win next general elections as he enjoyed overwhelming support of the people of Pakistan.He said that accountability of his family has been continuing since 1972. He said his hands are clean and will come out successful in the ongoing investigation process against him.

Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan express resolve to fight terrorism and extremism through strong interaction

 During the meeting Pakistan and Tajikistan acknowledge that sustainable Afghanistan is the factor for further integration of the region's countries and emphasized the importance of constructive cooperation between the three countries for the regional sustainable development.The three countries  expressed their firm resolve to fight with international terrorism and extremism. They recognized the importance of strengthening trilateral and multilateral cooperation on fight against the extremism, terrorism, illicit drugs trafficking and other transnational organized crimes.

Pakistan says Haqqani Network is based in Afghanistan and also operates from that country

Foreign Office has emphatically stated that there is no organized presence of any terror outfit including TTP, Jamaat-ul Ahrar, Daesh and Al-Qaeda on Pakistani land. Nafees Zakaria  said the allegations about presence of Haqqani network in tribal areas are mere rhetoric.This is only aimed at putting the blame of its own failures on Pakistan.The killing of a number of commanders of Haqqani network in Afghanistan clearly indicate that the group is based in Afghanistan and not operating from Pakistan.Pakistan believes in an Afghan led and Afghan owned peace process. Peace and stability in Afghanistan has direct bearing on peace and stability in Pakistan.

Central Development Working Party has approved seventeen projects of worth over 178 billion Rupeess.

The approval was granted during CDWP'meeting held in Islamabad with Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal in the chair.The development projects were approved in various sectors, including transport, housing, energy, agriculture, high education, water reservoirs.


Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says the government is focused on achieving higher, sustainable and inclusive economic growth after achieving macroeconomic stability.

He was talking to vice President of Asian Development Bank Wencai Zhang who called on him in Islamabad.The Finance Minister highlighted that provincial transfers have increased significantly due to increase in tax collections during the last 4 years as a result the provinces are in good fiscal shape.He said both ADB and the Government of Pakistan must work together to further strengthen this relationship.On the occasion, ADB`s vice President said that development cooperation has expanded between Pakistan and ADB during the last few years, which has resulted in impressive levels of approvals and disbursement of aid to Pakistan in Fiscal Year 2016-17.

Pakistan has been granted full membership of "Washington Accord" in recognition of its high standards in engineering education

This was stated by Minister for Science and Technology Rana Tanvir Hussain at a news briefing in Islamabad.Washington Accord is the highest international forum for evaluation and accreditation of engineering standards and education.The Minister said Pakistan is the 19th member of the body and third in Islamic world after Turkey and Malaysia.Highlighting the significant achievement, he said engineering degrees of Pakistani students will now be acceptable abroad. Rana Tanvir said National School of Science is being established in Lahore.

Forty-fourth session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will start from Monday at the capital of Côte d'Ivoire, Abidjan.

 The theme of the session is "Youth, Peace and Development in a World of Solidarity".
The President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, Alassane Dramane Ouattara, will deliver the opening speech of the meeting.  He will be followed by the Secretary General of the OIC Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, who will give a speech that reflects the Organization's vision and stance on challenges and current issues facing the Islamic world.
At the opening session, the Chairmanship of the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs, will be handed over by the Republic of Uzbekistan, President of the forty-third session, to the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.

US President has said his country is considering tough measures against North Korea following its latest missile test.

The United States President Donald Trump has vowed to confront North Korea very strongly following its latest missile test.Speaking at a news conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw, Trump said North Korea is a threat to peace.He said the United States is considering severe action against North Korea.

European Union and Japan have formally agreed an outline plan of free-trade deal. 

The outline plan was signed after a meeting between the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in Brussels.The agreement paves the way for trading in goods without tariff barriers between two of the world's biggest economic areas.
