Govt would provide funds for development of FATA: PM
A delegation of FATA Senators called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad.
The delegation included Abbas Khan Afridi, Haji Khan, Hilal-ur Rehman, Muhammad Saleh Shah, Senator Idrees Khan Safi, Hidayatullah and Najamul Hassan.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Prime Minister's Special Assistance for Parliamentary Affairs Barrister Zafarullah were also present during the meeting.
The Prime Minister said the Government would provide funds for the development of FATA particularly for the provision of health and education facilities. He said the government would provide more employment opportunities to the youth of FATA.
Nawaz Sharif especially mentioned that efforts should be made to exploit the huge marble reserves present in the tribal areas and emphasized the use of latest machinery in this regard.
Matters relating to re-settlement of TDPs, displaced as a result of Operation Zarb-e-Azb also came under discussion.
The Prime Minister said the government has provided billions of rupees for providing relief and sustenance to the TDPs and would continue to facilitate their resettlement in their areas.
