SBI, PBIT must focus on promotion of investment: Lubna
DG PBIT proposed that Sindh, Punjab may engage positively in different areas of mutual interest.
Director General Projects Policy and Research, Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT), Ms. Lubna Pathan visited Sindh Board of Investment (SBI) and called on Chairman SBI, Dr. Asif A. Brohi here on Friday.
In the meeting, the DG PBIT deliberated upon the activities, vision, different sectors of investment and policies of PBIT, said a statement.
She unleashed that besides different sectors of investment, PBIT is focusing on the development and investment in the Agriculture and Livestock sectors.
Investment from Qatar, Afghanistan and Central Asian countries is the main focus of PBIT and currently PBIT is also focusing on Canadian market, she added.
In addition, she proposed that SBI and PBIT may engage positively in different areas of mutual interest and sharing of information.
She was of the view that in future both the Boards may chalk out mutual promotional activities for the promotion of investment in Pakistan.
Business conferences, road shows and seminars at the local and foreign levels could be organised in this regard, she said.
He supported the proposal of Ms. Lubna Pathan for the mutual activities related to marketing and promotion of investment in various sectors locally, as well as, abroad.
He reiterated the joint efforts in the Agriculture sector for its value addition and value chain to attract the higher buying markets.
Moreover, DG SBI and Ms. Naheed Memon presented the details of current activities of SBI in the different sectors of economy of province and its future vision.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chairperson SBI, Ms. Naheed Memon, Director General SBI, Muhammad Riazuddin, Director SBI, Abrar Shaikh and Chief Executive Officer, SEDF, Mehboob-ul-Haq Memon. (APP)
