The Senate was informed today that Pakistan has great potential for exports in agriculture and food sectors but there is a need to meet the international standard of processing.

Minister of Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan told the House during question hour that the government is working for the fresh legislation on the National Tariff Commission.

He said presently Pakistan is in trade deficit with 97 countries while trade surplus with 98 countries.

The Minister said Pakistan has signed four Free Trade Agreements during the last ten years. He said the agreements were signed with China, Malaysia and Sri Lanka besides South Asian Free Trade Agreement.

To a question, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad told the House that Capital Development Authority has paid 32 billion rupees to Rawalpindi Development Authority for Metro Bus Service from Rawalpindi to Islamabad.

He said that the project meant for the welfare of the common man will make travel easy for them between the twin cities.

Replying to a question regarding YouTube blockade in Pakistan, Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rahman Khan informed the House that no technical solution is available which could block hundred per cent objectionable materials on the YouTube.

She said work is underway to get localised version of Google for Pakistan that will help block required contents.

Commerce Minister also moved two bills in the Senate today. 

"The Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2015" provides to amend the Companies Ordinance, 1984, whereas the Stock Exchanges (Corporatization, Demutualization, and Integration) Amendment Bill 2015" deals with amending the Stock Exchanges (Corporatization, Demutualization, and Integration) Act, 2012.

The bills have been referred to relevant Committees of the House.

The House has now been prorogued.
