NAP: Over 10,000 terrorist suspects arrested
Around 15,000 operations have been conducted countrywide.
The report on latest statistics on National Action Plan (NAP) has been presented to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
According to the report, around fifteen thousand operations have been conducted in which over ten thousand people have been arrested across the country. In Punjab 9413, Sindh 1577, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 2724, Balochistan 39, Islamabad 336, Azad Kashmir 720, Gilgit-Baltistan 29, and FATA 56 operations were carried out.
The report said 1934 arrests have been made in Punjab, 1533 in Sindh, 460 in Balochistan, 6038 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 505 in Islamabad, 129 in FATA, and 10 in Gilgit-Baltistan. Five hundred and forty cases were registered against making hate speeches and 2035 arrests were made on misuse of loudspeaker.
The report said over three thousand Afghan refugees have been repatriated since 24 December 2014. Over one thousand operations were carried out on intelligence report. Action has been taken on 161 calls received on 1717. The report said 24 people have been arrested in 18 cases of illegal transfer of funds. It added that 25.6 million mobile connections have so far been verified.
