UN calls upon Israel, Palestinian to start peace talks

The U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has urged Israel and Palestinian to start peace talks in Cairo for a durable peace in the Middle East.
In a statement in New York, he asked both Israelis and Palestinians to address underlying issues that continue to cause outbreaks of conflict.
The UN Secretary-General welcomed the efforts that led to the new ceasefire.
Israeli troops martyred more than 1800 Palestinians during its month-long raids on innocent Palestinians in Gaza Strip. Sixty seven Israeli troops were also killed in fighting.
