Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said it is responsibility of all the democratic forces to respect the mandate of the people of the country.

He was talking to Amir Jamaat-e-Islami in Islamabad on Wednesday, who presented Imran Khan's suggestions to him to end the political stalemate in the country.

The Prime Minister assured the JI Ameer that these proposals will be considered.

The Prime Minister said that the solution to all the problems being faced by the nation lies in dialogue and democracy.

He said that we respect mandate of all the political parties and will continue to do so in future.

The Prime Minister underlined that politics should be based on democratic principles of mutual respect, and not confrontation.

The JI Ameer appreciated the democratic attitude of the Prime Minister in respecting the mandate given to different parties in provinces.

Siraj ul Haq appreciated the courageous stand of the Prime Minister on the Palestinian issue.

During the meeting the Prime Minister decided to declare 17th of this month as Palestine Day.

Federal Ministers Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Pervaiz Rashid, Lt. General Retd. Abdul Qadir Baloch, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and PM's Political Secretary Dr. Asif Kirmani also attended the meeting.

JI leaders Liaquat Baloch and Mian Aslam were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, Jamiat-e-Ahl-e-Hadees Chief Allama Sajid Mir, Pakistan Muslim League (Zia) leader Ijazul Haq and FATA leader Ghazi Gulab Jamal also called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad.

They discussed the existing political situation in the country.
