Provincial Minister for Education, Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan says the Punjab government is committed to promote quality education in the province for eliminating illiteracy.

Addressing a meeting at Gujranwala, he said that government was spending more than 40 billion rupees for establishing new schools and colleges, upgrading schools and colleges and provision of missing facilities in education institutions during current fiscal year throughout the Punjab.

He said that government was providing different incentives to teachers and giving educational scholarships to brilliant students so that children of the poor people could also continue their study.
