Digital Pakistan Vision to open new avenues of development
December 06, 2019

Dr. Akram Sheikh (DG, PASTIC National Centre): There is no doubt that digital technologies will become increasingly important for production processes in the future. Pakistan's huge population is under 30, developments in the digital sector will help unleash the previously untapped potential of the country's youth. The country’s economy can be turned around on top of creating millions of jobs through digital vision. The creation of digital infrastructure, digital awareness, and delivering services digitally in local content all over the country are the fundamental prerequisites for a digitalized Pakistan.

Hasnain Kazmi (Director General, NITB): The vision of digital Pakistan is clear and the efforts of the present government in this regard are commendable. Digitalization will reduce the work load in future and people will work in paper less environment. Digital vision will also help in job creation. The Kamyab Jawan Program to empower youth financially in terms of capacity building is also an example in this regard. The digitalization concept will change a business model and provide new avenues and value-producing opportunities.

Dr. Muhammad Ali (Vice Chancellor, Quaid-e-Azam University): It is the era of globalization and digitalization is the only way forward to compete with the challenges of the modern world. Digital governance of public sector by using technology to provide government services online is now one of the standard tools of statecraft even in the developing countries. Keeping in view its importance as an integrated part of public service delivery mechanism, there is a need to increase the scope, improve quality and expand its outreach.

Kashmir Baney Ga Pakistan:

Lt Gen (Retd) Asif Yaseen Malik (Defense Analyst): Prime Minister Imran Khan has brought a new dimension in relationship with the world leaders including President Putin, Dr. Mahatir Muhammad and Donald Trump. In his meetings with the leaders, the focus of Prime Minister Imran Khan was the national interests rather than personal and party interests. I would like to pay tribute to courageous Indian journalist Rana Ayyub and her guts to go with a western journalist in Held Kashmir and expose Indian brutalities and genocide of Muslims in the valley. She has done a commendable job and strengthen the narrative of Pakistan regarding prevailing situation in Occupied Kashmir. It would be helpful to change the public opinion of the world over Kashmir issue. In democratic countries, the leadership is driven by public opinion so there will definitely a pressure mounted on India by the civilized world.

Shahid Amin (Former Ambassador): It is good development that Chairman of Saudi Shura Council has urged India or lifting of curfew and lockdown in Indian Occupied Kashmir at the earliest. It is unfortunate the Muslim leaders are not speaking against what is happening in Occupied Kashmir. It is fact that Muslims in Kashmiri have been suffering Indian brutalities and international community is silent over it. OIC is an important organization but not playing an active role in resolving Kashmir issue.
