Widespread rains expected
Strong monsoon currents are continuously penetrating in north eastern parts of Punjab, Kashmir.
Met Office has forecast widespread rain in Islamabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, D.G. Khan, Bahawalpur, Hazara, Malakand, Peshawar and Mardan divisions during next 12 hours.
Temperature of some major cities recorded on Friday morning:
Islamabad 21 degree centigrade, Lahore 23, Karachi 28, Peshawar 24, Quetta 19, Murree 13, Gilgit 11 and Muzaffarabad 17 degree centigrade.
According to synoptic situation, yesterday's well marked monsoon low pressure area over central parts of Rajasthan is now located over northwest Rajasthan (India) and adjoining areas with its trough extending upto northeast Punjab. Seasonal low lies over west Baluchistan and adjoining areas.
A westerly wave is also prevailing over Kashmir and adjoining areas and likely to persist during next 24 to 36 hours. Strong monsoon currents are continuously penetrating in north eastern parts of Punjab and Kashmir and likely to continue during next 24 to 36 hours.
