Pakistan a peace loving nation: If war is imposed on us, we have the capability to respond effectively: DG ISPR
[DG ISPR Asif Grafoor briefs media in Rawalpindi]
Director General ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor has called for further strengthening cohesion among national institutions to foil hostile narrative of the enemies of the country. He said Pakistan is the best country of the world and by joint efforts of the people and security forces of the country we have effectively countered all the threats facing the nation. Peace has been established in the country and there is no organized office of any terrorist organization in the country. The achievements gained in war against terror will be fortified and this war will be taken to its logical conclusion. Economic interests of a number of regional countries are linked with Pakistan and due to this reason Pakistan is facing threats on its borders. Our neighboring country Afghanistan is under war for the last four decades. About fifty percent area of Afghanistan is not under the control of the under the government.
Analysts on Telephone:
Jan Achakzai (Leader, PML-N):
The nation is in the state of grief and sorrow over Baluchistan incident. I would also like to salute the security personnel who sacrificed his life and saved the lives of many people by stopping the terrorist. Our enemies are making efforts to sabotage CPEC to stop the ongoing economic development in Baluchistan. Although terrorism has reduced to a great extent, but in some incidents the terrorists choose soft targets for their cowardly activities. Pakistani nation is brave and such incidents cannot reduce their motivation against terrorism.
Dr. Muhammad Khan (Defense Analyst):
The press conference of DG ISPR was a balanced one in which he addressed certain internal and external issues. Pakistan clearly told the world that there are no safe havens of the terrorists in the country. Pakistani forces are carrying out operations against terrorists throughout the country without any discrimination. Law and order situation in Afghanistan is worst as more than 50% of the country is under the control of Taliban. COAS and DG ISPR reaffirmed the commitment that the people involved in conspiracies and propaganda against Pakistan will be dealt with iron hands wherever they are.
