A total of 69,534 intending pilgrims were selected under government Hajj scheme through open computerised balloting in Islamabad on Thursday.

Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf conducted the balloting at a ceremony.      

In all, two hundred eighty thousand six hundred and seventeen applications were received against quota of seventy-one thousand six hundred eighty-four under the government scheme.

The remaining 2150 cases will be decided against hardship quota of new born children, labour and broken families.

Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Yousaf said successful applicants can get information from the website of the Ministry after ten tonight.
